2007-08 Goals for Rutgers
Interim Chancellor Margaret Marsh has identified four goals to advance the campus during this transitional year and provide a foundation for future growth.
  1. Grow enrollment. Recruitment of new students, and retention of those enrolled at Rutgers-Camden, is at the top of Chancellor Marsh’s goals for this year. The Rutgers-Camden Enrollment Management and Student Affairs offices, in collaboration with the faculty, administration, and staff of undergraduate schools and colleges are working diligently to expand campus enrollments.
  2. Enhance campus physical environment. An improved physical environment is already in progress at Rutgers-Camden. This fall, the campus enjoyed the opening of a stunning new dining hall, the unveiling of a striking public artwork, and the beginning of restoration to the Rutgers-Camden residential complex. Future projects include significant renovations to the Gymnasium and opening a new Law School building and restored existing facility.
  3. Advance Rutgers-Camden’s reputation. The campus will employ new marketing strategies to better tell the Rutgers-Camden story to our constituents. A new branding and marketing campaign has been launched by Rutgers University, and an updated and streamlined web site for the campus will be launched.
  4. Support the goals of the academic units. Rutgers-Camden aims to become a top public research institution. Chancellor Marsh will work to reach this goal by representing the aspirations of Rutgers-Camden schools and colleges to the university and external constituencies, and by working closely with the deans and their faculties.
