The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences is the principal academic officer for the Camden College of Arts and Sciences, University College, and the Graduate School. She is responsible for developing the budgets and staffing plans for these units, and for leading the units toward effective teaching, high-quality research, and service to the community, state, and country. The Dean is involved in development efforts for FAS and represents the Faculty of Arts and Sciences to internal and external constituencies.
In addition, the Dean also directs the appointment and promotion process, the faculty academic service increment program, and the pay for performance/staff compensation programs.
Dr. Marsh, an alumna of Rutgers-Camden who holds her Ph.D. from Rutgers, is a distinguished historian of women, gender, and medicine. She was named a University Professor by the Board of Governors in June 2009.

Primary Responsibilities: Educational Opportunity Fund Program and University College
The Associate Dean for University College and Director of the
Educational Opportunity Fund Program oversees University College
and ensures that all needed services are provided for its evening
students and faculty; oversees our off-campus partnerships; serves
as Director of the Educational Opportunity Fund Program; oversees
the Academic Transition Program and the Learning Center;
and provides administrative support within the Dean’s Office.
Dr. Dougherty, whose Ph.D. is from the Pennsylvania State University,
teaches in the graduate program in Public Policy and Administration.

The duties of the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies include: managing all matters pertaining to the Graduate School; arranging matters pertaining to external review and reaccreditation of all Arts and Sciences departments and programs; and developing special programs connected to the Graduate School. Dr. Garcia, who earned his Ph.D. at Kansas State University, is a Professor of Psychology.

The Associate Dean for CCAS administers the part-time lecturer budget; monitors course enrollment and makes sure that resources are used efficiently; processes promotion/tenure packets; maintains communication with department chairs on various issues; handles student complaints beyond the departmental level; oversees research centers and institutes; and assists the Dean in developing new campus-wide projects. Dr. Hoffman, who earned his Ph.D. at the University of Virginia, is an Associate Professor of English.

Primary Responsibilities: Academic Affairs and Program Development
The responsibilities of the Associate Dean for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences include: advising the Dean on administrative policies and procedures, especially instructional technology, budget matters, and scholarships and awards; improving communication within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and publicizing Faculty of Arts and Sciences programs within and outside of the University; overseeing the Teacher Preparation Program; serving as the Dean's liaison to college, campus-wide, and regional planning committees; overseeing the Office of Academic Advising; and developing and administering programs to inculcate and recognize excellence in teaching. Dr. Rosoff, who holds her Ph.D. from Temple University, is an associate member of the History Department and a member of the graduate faculty.

Primary Responsibility: Honors College
The Associate Dean / Director of the Honors College oversees the academic programs of the Honors College and its students. He recruits students for the Honors College and guides their academic development; in addition, the associate dean and director of the Honors College works with other campus offices to develop and coordinate programs and opportunities for students. Dr. Martin, whose Ph.D. is from the University of Pennsylvania, is an associate professor of English and directs the International Studies program.

The primary responsibility of the Assistant Dean for Development is to advise the Dean on issues related to development and alumni relations. The Office of Development directs and supports activities to generate funds that will benefit students, faculty, and staff as well as programs for the Faculty of Arts & Sciences; projects include working with internal and external constituencies to raise funds for scholarships, fellowships, endowed chairs, and professorships and creating endowments for the college and for its centers of excellence.

The Business Manager for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences oversees the budget for the entire unit and the smaller entities for which it is responsible. She also deals with personnel issues (health benefits, payroll, pensions); payroll, summer salary, student payroll; forms to make changes for payroll deductions, address change, W-4, and direct deposits; paychecks; secretarial problems; and budget issues.

The Executive Assistant to the Dean serves as a liaison between the Dean's Office and campus, university, and community, as well as professional units, groups, and organizations; acts as the confidential and executive assistant to the Dean; maintains records and works with a variety of faculty committees regarding faculty appointment, assignment, promotion, reappointment, and review; coordinates, prepares, distributes, and compiles records regarding FASIP, Pay for Performance, departmental and working budgets, sabbatical and competitive leave; oversees production of the annual report; and supervises work-study students and part-time workers.
